How to choose a strong password

1

Length beats complexity

A long password from a large alphabet is harder to crack than a short one full of substitutions. Treat twenty characters as the minimum for anything that matters.

2

Never reuse a password

Reuse is how a breach at one service turns into a breach everywhere. A password manager and this generator solve it.

3

Look-alike characters

Leaving out I, l, 1, O and 0 makes a password safe to read aloud or copy from a screenshot, at a small cost in entropy.

4

Where the password is made

The random values come from crypto.getRandomValues in your own browser. This page makes no network request to create them.
