Hosting has a footprint.
Here's what we do about ours.

Every AblePage plan funds real trees through Trees.org. We're also fully remote, so there's no office, commute or paper to offset in the first place. What we won't do is call our servers carbon neutral and leave it there.

How we cut our footprint

Listed by how much difference each one makes, not how good it sounds.

Efficient hardware, fewer servers

AMD EPYC processors with NVMe storage and LiteSpeed serve far more traffic per watt than the older Apache and SATA setups they replaced. Moving to denser hardware cut the number of physical machines we run per thousand sites. For a host, that's the largest single reduction available.

Reforestation through Trees.org

Each month we pay a contribution, scaled to plans sold, into tree planting and Gold Standard climate projects. So far it has funded 1,470 trees in independently verified mangrove, agroforestry and reforestation projects.

No office to power

The team is fully remote and always has been. There's no building to heat or light, no daily commute and almost no paper. Emissions that never happen are ones you don't have to offset.

Green Powered Shared Hosting

  • We Plant Trees
  • Green Energy
  • Green Minded Staff

Host your website sustainably. Through ongoing monthly contributions from every hosting plan, we fund the planting of real trees in global reforestation projects with Trees.org.

We operate as a fully remote team, which helps reduce our environmental footprint beyond tree planting. By eliminating daily commutes, minimising office energy use and reducing paper, we run a lower-impact operation while still delivering reliable hosting.

TREES PLANTED 1,470 and counting...

How the tree planting works

Every plan sold funds planting through Trees.org. Here's where the money goes and how it's verified.

A contribution on every plan

A fixed share of each hosting plan goes into our Trees.org account every month, on shared and WordPress plans alike. It's part of the price, not an add-on you have to opt into.

Planted where it does the most good

Mangrove restoration in Madagascar, agroforestry in Kenya, and reforestation in Nicaragua and Uganda. We chose these projects for biodiversity and local jobs, not just the headline count.

Independently verified

Planting partners report to Trees.org, and the climate projects alongside them are Gold Standard or Verra certified. None of these figures are self-reported by us.

1,470 trees and counting

The figure goes up every month as plans renew. It's the total our customers have funded together since the programme started in 2024.

Efficiency comes first

Trees are the second half of the story. Serving more traffic per watt keeps the footprint small in the first place, through LiteSpeed, NVMe, AMD EPYC and a fully remote team.

Your site plays a part

A cached, image-optimised site uses a fraction of the CPU an unoptimised one needs. Our support team will help you get there for free, on any plan.
