A transfer adds a full year to whatever time is left on your registration. Multi-year registrations are billed at the renewal price from year two onward.
Get your first year free with any annual plan
Choose a Growth, Premium or Elite hosting plan on any billing cycle and one domain is free for the first year. That covers .com, .net, .org, .co and most of the extensions above. The domain is registered in your name and sits in your account, and you can move it away whenever you like. We don't hold domains hostage to keep hosting customers.

Transfer a domain in
It takes three steps and about ten minutes of your time. Your site stays online the whole way through.
- 01
Unlock the domain and get the auth code
At your current registrar, turn off the transfer lock and ask for the EPP or authorisation code. It usually arrives by email within minutes. If your registrar hides the option, send us their name and we'll tell you exactly where to find it.
- 02
Start the transfer here and keep your DNS
Paste in the code and pay for one year at the transfer price. We copy your existing DNS records across before the transfer completes, so visitors notice nothing: the records that route your site and email stay the same.
- 03
Approve the email and you're done
The registry emails the domain contact to confirm. Once you approve, the transfer clears in five to seven days and the year you paid for is added to the time you had left. Your renewal date moves forward, so you never lose time.

Still have
questions?
Ask us a question
Do I own the domain, or do you?
You do. AblePage registers it to you as the legal registrant, with your contact details on the record, and it stays yours whether or not you host with us. Transferring away is free, and you never need a support ticket to release it.
